Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria

We headed to Maine for Columbus Day weekend. Unlike most of the weekends in Maine this summer, this past weekend was beautiful! The ocean was calm, the sky was clear, and the foliage was brilliant. Oliver decided that the weekend was a perfect one for a lot of firsts. Some of his firsts we were able to document, others we weren't.

The undocumented firsts:

Oliver rolled over! About 15 minutes after I told Ellen that Oliver hadn't even considered rolling over, Davis called me upstairs to show me - Oliver rolling over.

Oliver went on his first hike (well, actually he slept through his first hike). We hiked up Maiden's Cliff - it was gorgeous looking out over the lake and ocean. We had forgotten to charge the camera battery so we couldn't take pictures.

He went to a first birthday party. His cousin Alice turned one and we went to Maine to help her celebrate. Party animal Oliver slept through the whole thing.

Oliver figured out how to kick really hard and push his little bath tub to the other end of the big tub. He had a lot of fun doing this. Between the new tub escapades and the rolling over, we are going to have to watch him a bit more closely.

Now on to the documented firsts:

He borrowed Addison's exersaucer and LOVED it. He spun himself around and around and chewed (and drooled) on just about every toy.

He drove the boat.
He (and his parrot) helped do yard work.

And Oliver hung out with Ethan. Ethan was wonderful with him. He shared his toys, and Ethan held Oliver's hand.
As for Anna- she had a wonderful time in Paradise aka Maine. She spent the majority of the time running around outside, only poking her head through the dog door occasionally to check on us.
