Cider Hill Farm

Last week we visited Cider Hill Farm, a wonderful farm near our house. Oliver got to watch donuts being made, and got to try his first donut. Given the donut was still warm and we were surrounded by the delicious smell of freshly made donuts, we thought Oliver would devour it. Not so. He took a couple bites and then tried to feed it to the chickens. Davis, a donut lover, quickly stepped in and "rescued" the donut.

Oliver was more interested in picking (and eating) fruit. We started the morning picking raspberries. Oliver surprised us by not only saying raspberry, but also by eating them - by the handful. We had a bit of explaining to do when we went to the cashier and Oliver and I were covered in raspberries, despite the sign that clearly said we were not supposed to eat the berries. Oops.
Oliver also enjoyed picking and eating peaches and plums. I think the little guy ate twice as much his weight in fruit while we were at the farm.

Oliver really likes dogs, cats, and birds, and loves reading about, but not seeing, other animals. So this horse swing was just up his alley.
We will be headed back to the farm in another couple weeks for apples- anyone is welcome to join us.
